Founded in 1982 and based in Barcelos, Portugal, P&R has been focused on manufacturing technical sports garments for major brands in the field of active sportswear and competition wear. Our track record covers several sports such as running, track & field, cycling, triathlon, rugby, football, swimwear, fitness wear, as well as other collective/individual sports. Our technology-driven mindset allowed us, together with our customers, to provide back-to-back solutions from early stage development to manufacturing. P&R has a skilled team of more than 200 employees and is a reliable partner when it comes to fitting, design and performance, as all production processes are integrated and available in-house. Social accountability, high quality standards, sustainable development and safety are at the core of our business, therefore, holding both SA 8000 and ISO 9001 certifications. Competition wear developed by P&R enabled performance to many major sport events: Olympic Games, Tour de France, among others. Technical sports garments developed by and for athletes, using the latest technology in terms of product construction and the most stretch, lightweight and breathable materials. Service is key and takes an important role throughout our product offering. From product development to testing and sampling, our partners are driven across a continuous improvement process.
Well-established relationships with most relevant fabric and trim suppliers, both locally and internationally. Solid local cluster allowing us to provide an agile response for all our customers’ needs. In-house pattern makers, graphic design team and laboratory for fabric and trim testing. Cutting department equipped with latest CAD/CAM technology, as well as laser for precision cutting. Digital printing on paper with water-based inks ensuring a sustainable and environmentally friendly printing process. From an assembling point of view, our production technics feature both conventional seams and last generation of bonded and welded seams. Solid know-how and experience working with stretch synthetic fabrics, leveraged by strong flatlock capacity and bonding capabilities.
Our quality control and testing procedures implemented provide relevant support information for quality assurance and production. Our in-house laboratory ensures a wide range of tests as part of our ISO 9001 quality management process: dimensional stability, tear strength test, weight per SQM, washing colour fastness, spectrophotometer, pilling test, light box test, among others. This technical assessment from the QC validates all the orders that can move into production, as well as all bonding procedures. For more in-depth or accredited reports, P&R works with external accredited institutes to conduct such textile testing reports.
P&R is linked to well-accredited research institutes and competence centers for testing and research. Access to testing with Universities, Athletes, Federations and Clubs. These partnerships with relevant stakeholders, leverages our knowledge to continuing improving our products.
